Getting Started

What is Echo, in simple terms?

Echo is a thinking partner for people running marketing on their own. It helps you talk through goals, pressure-test ideas, and turn uncertainty into clear next steps.

Who is Echo for?

Echo is built for solo marketers, early-stage teams, nonprofit communicators, and self-guided leaders who don’t have a full marketing team or strategist to lean on.

Do I need marketing experience to use Echo?

No. Echo meets you where you are, whether you’re new to marketing or just stretched thin.

How It Works

Is Echo a chatbot or a strategy tool?

It’s both. Echo uses conversation to help you clarify problems, explore options, and build practical plans you can actually act on.

What kinds of things can I ask Echo?

You can talk through campaign ideas, messaging, social content, prioritization, reporting to leadership, budgeting decisions, and what to do next when things feel unclear.

Will Echo give me templates and plans?

Echo can help you create plans, outlines, and starting points, but its real value is helping you think through what makes sense for your specific situation.

Will Echo give me ethical advice?

Echo is trained on an ethical AI framework, so guardrails have been put in place. You can learn more about this framework here.

How is Echo different from general AI tools like ChatGPT or Claude?

Great question. Echo is constantly being updated with marketing-specific documentation that has been reviewed and curated for your use. If you choose to upload confidential information to help with decision-making, it is sandboxed and protected so no one sees it but you. And we have included the ethical guardrails mentioned above. In short, we have built a finely-tuned marketing expert for you.

AI & Accuracy

Is Echo powered by AI?

Yes. Echo uses AI to provide conversational guidance and strategic support, with human oversight behind how the system is designed and maintained.

Can I trust Echo’s advice?

Echo is designed to support your thinking, not replace professional judgment. You should always review and validate outputs before acting on them.

Does Echo make decisions for me?

No. Echo helps you clarify options and tradeoffs, but you stay in control of all decisions.

Privacy & Data

Does Echo read or share my conversations?

Echo does not sell your data. Conversations may be processed and stored to operate and improve the service, in line with our Privacy Policy.

Is my information shared with third parties?

Only with trusted service providers who help run Echo (such as hosting and payment platforms), and only as needed to deliver the service.

Can I delete my account and data?

Yes. You can request account and data deletion by contacting hello@startwithecho.com with the subject line “Delete My Account.”

Pricing & Billing

How much does Echo cost?

Echo is offered as a monthly subscription. Current pricing is shown on the sign-up page.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There are no long-term contracts. You can cancel your subscription at any time.

Do you offer discounts for nonprofits or students?

Echo may offer special pricing from time to time. Reach out to ask about current options and keep an eye on our social media accounts.

Support & Usage

What if I get stuck or something isn’t working?

You can contact support directly through the site. We actually read and respond to messages.

Can I use Echo on my phone or tablet?

Yes. Echo works in modern browsers across desktop and mobile devices.

Can my whole team use one account?

Echo is designed for individual use. If you’re looking for a team setup, reach out to discuss options.

Relationship to Fifth Letter

Is Echo connected to Fifth Letter?

Yes. Echo is a product of Fifth Letter, Inc., a strategy-led communications studio.

Will Echo try to sell me agency services?

No. Echo is fully usable on its own. Some users may choose to work with Fifth Letter later as their needs grow, but that’s never required.

Trust & Expectations

Will Echo replace a marketing consultant or agency?

Echo can help you move forward when you don’t have access to a strategist, but it’s not a replacement for full-service professional support.

What happens if Echo gives me bad advice?

Echo provides guidance, not guarantees. You’re responsible for how you apply any insights. As Abraham Lincoln famously said, “When it comes to artificial intelligence, trust but verify.” (Okay, he never actually said that. We appreciate your attention to detail.)

Last But Not Least…

Why is it called Echo?

Because it’s designed to reflect your thinking back to you in a way that’s clearer, more focused, and easier to act on. It’s the voice of a friend, not a stranger.
